What Is the Outpatient Mental Health Program?

The Outpatient Mental Health Program's goal is to assist individuals experiencing any number of life stressors through the use of a variety of interventions. Northern Tier Counseling, Inc provides outpatient mental health services to Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties as well as other surrounding counties and residents of New York state. These services include diagnostic assessment, individual, group, couples and family therapy. Levels of care assessments are completed as requested by the court system.

Treatment in the mental health program can include various interventions based upon the needs of the participant. Some interventions may include cognitive behavioral treatment, solution-focused brief therapy, gradual exposure therapy, grief and bereavement support, and rational emotive therapy.

We also provide various group interventions. We are currently offering a parenting group and an anger management group

Therapy services are provided by experienced mental health professionals including licensed clinical social workers, licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors, and master's level clinicians.

Our Intake Process

Open-Access Clinics
We believe strongly that people should not have to wait for their services when they have made the decision to seek treatment. Because of this belief, we operate two open-access clinics each week out of our North Towanda office. Our open-access clinics run on Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and again on Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Beginning Wednesday July 1st 2020, we will begin open access clinics each Wednesday in our Sayre office from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM .The open-access clinic therapist will meet with you and work with you to identify a treatment plan that best meets your needs.

To begin your intake process, we ask that you please call our intake department at (888) 322-1682 to review your insurance plan or to make payment arrangements.

Our Medical Department

We not only provide therapy to promote whole body and mind health and wellness, but we also provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management follow up after the evaluation when psychotropic medication is needed.

Our medical staff provide a comprehensive exam to explore the need and possible benefits of adding a medication regime to an individuals treatment plan. We can also provide injection and medication trays as appropriate and necessary.

We treat a broad range of conditions which include but are not limited to the following: major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
