Customer/Client Policy
Our policies on customer rights and responsibilities

While you are a client of Northern Tier Counseling, your needs will be identified and a plan will be developed to meet your mental health and/or drug & alcohol needs. We offer flexible scheduling to fit your personal life.

As a client you are entitled to the following:

  • Be informed about your treatment plan and treatment options.
  • Confidentiality - All services offered through Northern Tier Counseling are held completely confidential. Your privacy is of the utmost importance.
  • Grievance Process

The following below state our policies on customers:

Basic Program Rules

The following are rules that must be followed while you are a client here at Northern Tier Counseling.

  1. Clients are expected to be present at all scheduled appointments.
  2. Clients are not permitted to use drugs or alcohol before or during sessions. In the event that a client is under the influence, the counseling session will be terminated immediately.
  3. Physical and/or verbal threats or abuse will not be tolerated in any form
  4. Clients will adhere to the facility rules contract in reference to scheduling, payments, and discharge policies.

Scheduling, Payment, and Discharge Policy

  1. Northern Tier Counseling requires a 24-hour advanced notice for patient appointments that need to be rescheduled or cancelled. This enables us to use this time for someone else in need. Failure to give 24-hour notice may result in your being billed full payment for the allotted time scheduled.
  2. Payments and co-payments are required at the time the service is rendered
  3. Any unpaid balance for a period of non-payment for 90-days will be turned over to our collection agency and you will be subject to a discharge for non-compliance.
  4. A pattern of no-show or cancelled appointments (2 or more) will be subject to a therapeutic discharge for non-compliance. You will be contacted by mail if this type of discharge is in process.
