Therapeutic Staff Support Worker

Overview:
Northern Tier Counseling has immediate openings for part-time temporary Therapeutic Staff Support Workers.  The TSS worker provides one-on-one intervention to a child or adolescent at home, school, daycare, YMCA, emergency room, other community based programs or community settings when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment or educational setting.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Specific interventions to stabilizing child or adolescent.

  • Support for the family's effort to stabilize the child or adolescent and to promote age appropriate behavior by working with the family.

  • Collaboration with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home or in the other community settings and participation in interagency service planning meetings when possible.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills as well as the ability to work effectively as a team member.

Qualified people will include: 1) Persons with a college degree in a human services field with no work experience; 2) Persons with a college degree in other fields with one year of paid work experience that involved direct contact with children or adolescents; 3) Persons with an Associate's Degree or with two years of college and three years of experience in paid work that involved direct contact with children or adolescents; 4) Registered nurses with one year of paid work experience that involved direct contact with children or adolescents; and 5) Licensed practical nurses with three years of paid work experience that involved direct contact with children or adolescents.
